Beqa Lagoon - Awesome Dive Adventure

"The island is absolutely beautiful, with wonderful little rooms and each one seems to have A/C. Our room had a dipping pool, think jacuzzi but no blowers. The dipping pool was awesome! The water is cool, but not uncomfortable and great for relaxing after the dives. Our room had sitting room with a small bed and a sleeping area for my wife and me. Beqa Lagoon is small, maybe 50 huts and you'll get to know all the people at the resort. One of the guest was there fishing and he was killing it just off the shore of the lagoon. The resort has a great dinning area and once we made land fall on the island, we were immedately taken there for lunch. The dinning facility is open air with stunning veiws of the ocean. The food is absolutely off the hook! The bar area is right next to the dinning and provides easy access from the pool. The pool area is unbelievable. The hammered that thing out of the coral that makes up the island and its huge. We spent a ton of time in the pool, when not diving.

Diving:
The diving was really great. We've dived all around the world and Fiji is really a remarkable location to dive. The set up at Beqa Lagoon is really simple. Just drop your gear off on the first day and they set you up for the rest of the trip. Just show up to the boat and your gear is magically ready to roll. The dive masters are very familar with the dive sites, do a great top side overview before each dive talking about what you'll see, etc. We did three dives a day and a couple of night dives. The dives are relaxing, easy in, easy out.

We did the shark dive and all I can say is you should spend the extra cash and hopefully you'll get to see BIG! BIG is a 14' female tiger shark. She shows up out of the mist (about 100' visability) and slowly comes up to the dive masters for a treat of chum and fish heads. She moves so effortlessly and it's cool to watch the other sharks just get out of the way for her.

Drinks:
You have to have a Monkey Lala. I'll just leave it at that. So good... Kava - make sure you attend the tribal dance night that the locals put on for the guests. They do a kava session afterward and its kind of trippy.

Locals:
The resort personel took a group of us over the local village, where we got to listen to the local school kids sing songs, and we got a tour of their school. It was really a great experience.

Sunsets:
The sunsets are stunning. The pool faces west and you can sit there and watch or meander down on the beach to watch. Its breathtaking!!!

All in all, Beqa Lagoon is a great destination. You'll have a great time!!!"
